You must use Google Chrome
as your browser when using Robo Friend!
Using mobile devices.
When using a phone or tablet to listen to ROBO FRIEND, you will need to keep the device from "sleeping".
When the device sleeps, ROBO FRIEND sleeps too.
For Apple, go to Setting > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock > Never
For Androids, depending on your phone or tablet, you may have the option to set the screen timeout to "never" under Settings > Display > Sleep.
If you do not have this option, you can enable Settings > Developer options > Stay awake.
Note: After your session with ROBO FRIEND is over, remember to revert your sleep settings back to your previous settings.
Known Minor Issues
When using a ChromeBook
, the "Pause It" button does not work. The "Cancel" button does work properly.
If you are using a ChromeBook with Robo Friend, there may be a 2-3 second delay in hearing the first voice after pressing a button, such as the "Welcome Message" or "Voice Message".
After the initial message, Robo Friend should perform normally.
Some "Google" voices will not speak the entire monologues. If the voice abruptly cuts off, simply choose a different voice.
If you cannot hear Robo Friend's "Welcome Message" and "Voice Message" on the home page, try these methods:
1. Refresh your browser, or:
2. Empty your cache and then refresh the page, or:
3. Quit your browser completely then return to the Robo Friend page.
4. As a last resort, restart your computer and reload the Robo Friend page.
If you still cannot hear the messages on the home page, then your device most likely does not have the operating system requirements for it to function properly.
Once your are inside and enjoying Robo Friend's company and the paragraphs seem to be cut short, do the following:
1. Refresh the page a couple of times.
2. If that does not work, clear your browser cache, then refresh the page a couple of times.
